Jim was invited to show two sculpture works in an exhibition on NC wood art at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum March 21 - August 9, 2020. He will participate in an Artist Roundtable in July.
Jim Oleson was invited to exhibit a furniture piece in an exhibition at the Bascom Center for Visual Arts in Highlands, NC. The exhibition is from October 12, 2019 to January 6, 2020.
Jim gave an artist's talk at the Frank Gallery on July 12, 2019, as one of the featured artists in the current exhibition.
Hillsborough Gallery of Art
Jim has a sculpture work accepted for the juried "Resolutions 2018" show at the Hillsborough Gallery of Art in Hillsborough, NC. The show dates are January 3-21, 2018.
Jim was invited to participate in the Winter Show December 3, 2017 - January 13, 2018. The GreenHill Gallery is in Greensboro, NC.
In 2017 Jim was invited to show work in the newly opened Cocoon Gallery in Apex, NC.
Frank Gallery Exhibition
Jim will be one of the featured artists at the Frank Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC from September 6 to October 9, 2016. The opening reception is Friday September 9 from 6 to 9pm.

Jim is a featured artist during January and February 2015 at the Point of View Art Gallery in Burlington, NC; he recently was accepted as a member of this gallery. On February 12, 2015, he will speak at a Salon being held at the gallery from 6 to 9 pm.
Jim will be featured artist at the Frank Gallery in Chapel Hill during December, and he will talk about his work at a salon on Thursday December 11, 6-8 pm.

Jim was delighted to be accepted as a member of the Point of View Gallery in Burlington, NC in November 2014.

Frank Gallery Exhibition
Jim is one of the featured artists having work in the "Tree: Witness to Life" exhibition at the Frank Gallery in Chapel Hill July 8 -September 7, 2014. As a gallery member he has additional pieces on display at the Gallery that are not part of the special exhibition.
New Gallery Representation
In December, 2013, Jim became a member of the Frank Gallery in Chapel Hill.
Inspired By The Lens Exhibition
From September 10 through October 6, 2013, there is an exhibition at the Frank Gallery in Chapel Hill titled "Inspired by the Lens". This includes contributions from 6 artists involving different media. Jim has a "Tree Root" table in this exhibit that was inspired by images of the root systems of trees and is made with tapered, bent, laminated legs.
Talk at Triangle Woodworkers Association
On September 17, 2013, Jim has been invited to give a talk on "Tapered Bent Laminations" and he will describe the process for making both single and double tapered laminations.

Saxapahaw Gallery Exhibition
The Saxapahaw Gallery in Saxapahaw, NC is having a "Wood As Art" Exhibition August 3- September 2 2012. I am one of the featured artists and have seven furniture pieces in the exhibition.

In January 2013 an image of my work appeared on the cover of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics.
I have developed designs for cheese boards that feature a variety of hardwoods and which have decorative inlays with a contrasting dark wood known as wenge.

Orange County Artists Guild Open Studio Tour
On November 5 and 6, 2011, I participated in the Open Studio Tour, partnering with Barbara Tyroler (http://www.btyroler.com/). This was very successful with about 100 visitors coming to see our work. About half of my table and cutting boards on display were purchased.
