Cutting Boards
I make cutting boards primarily with "butcher block" construction that results in the cutting surface revealing fascinating end grain patterns. End grain is very hard and will hold up with years of use. I combine different woods to form unique designs, including cherry, walnut, red oak, brown oak, mesquite, purpleheart, maple, and ambrosia maple.
The boards are finished with many applications of mineral oil followed by a final application of mineral oil and beeswax solution. Every other month a cutting board should have mineral oil applied to the surfaces to restore gloss and protect the wood from moisture.
